Australia: Big tobacco eyes Canadian cannabis for future of industry

Since the 2018 legalisation of cannabis for recreational use in Canada, major multinationals have been eyeing local producers for investment opportunities.

This month, British American Tobacco bought a 20% stake in Organigram for US$175 million, underscoring the fact that cannabis products are increasingly seen as regular consumer products.
