Pub LTE: Amnesty on cannabis now a must for MS patients Lezley Gibson Daily Express Friday 12 Jan 2001 Pub Date: Friday, 12 January 2001 Pub LTE: Amnesty on cannabis now a must for MS patients Author: Lezley Gibson AMNESTY ON CANNABIS NOW A MUST FOR MS PATIENTS I was very pleased to see the article about Kate Bradley, mainly because I too have MS and use cannabis very successfully (daily Express Jan10) I was recently found not guilty by the crown court for the possession of cannabis - I used medicinal necessity for my defense. The whole trial has left me much worse with my MS than I ever was before the ordeal. People like Kate, myself and many many others should not be treated like crininals. I remember when the drugs squad members were leaving my home that I wished they could experience the symptoms of MS and realise the harm they were causing by depriving me of my medicine. Perhaps now that an ex-drugs squad member admitts (bavely) to using cannabis, the Government will realise we are not pulling the wool over their eyes. Cannabis does have a medicinal value and an amnesty on medicinal use should be immediatly implemented. Lezley Gibson
