The Taliban has banned the cultivation of cannabis in Afghanistan

According to foreign media reports, on Sunday, Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada officially issued an order to ban the cultivation of cannabis in the country.

The order states that the cultivation of hemp is prohibited in the country, if the order is violated, the hemp crop will be destroyed and the violator will be punished according to Sharia rules.

According to the United Nations report, Afghanistan has a large amount of hemp grown by farmers, which is why Afghanistan became the largest hemp supplying country in 2010.
