Stricter cannabis controls rolled out across Thailand
Pattaya Mail Monday 22 Jun 2026 Inquiries: The Medical Cannabis Information and Coordination Center received 209 calls from 1 to 31 May, answering 187 inquiries on the spot. Most questions focused on training programs and license stickers, and public satisfaction with the service reached 93.26%. Complaints: Between 1 May and 12 June, the Traffy Fondue complaint platform logged 73 reports of alleged cannabis violations. Of those, five cases have been resolved, and another five remain under active investigation. Inspections: Authorities inspected more than 1,247 cannabis establishments nationwide, resulting in enforcement actions such as arrests, license suspensions, and the seizure of suspicious items. DTAM stated that these measures aim to ensure cannabis is used strictly for medical purposes in compliance with the law, while simultaneously protecting public health.
