UK: Cannabis smokers plan march and festival
Ananova
Tuesday 13 Mar 2001 The organisers of this year's Ganja Day protest are looking for dance acts to appear at the London event. Last year's End Of Prohibition March attracted 20,000 protesters with most ending the day at a Free Cannabis festival in Brixton's Brockwell Park. Double the numbers are expected this year with a similar event at Brockwell Park again following the march on May 5. Pendragon and Offshore have already offered their sound systems for the party and 30kW of sound is guaranteed for the main stage. Ninja Tune will be providing DJs and internet broadcasts of the event. However, there is room for other acts willing to provide their services on a budget. Interested acts should contact Chris on 020 8509 3645. The march will begin at midday at Kennington Park before proceeding to Brockwell Park.
