UK: MS sufferers given cannabis in chocolates

---
A MULTIPLE sclerosis patient is supplying fellow sufferers with Belgian
chocolates filled with cannabis which, she claims, relieves pain.

Elizabeth "Biz" Ivol, 53, has been inundated with requests for the illicit
treatment from people with the disabling illness.

Mrs Ivol sends out the chocolates from her home in Orkney by mail order
free of change. Recipients have to produce a doctor's letter proving that
they have multiple sclerosis.

Mrs Ivol, who has a previous conviction for growing cannabis, said: "We
have found that cannabis does help. It's a shame that it has been
misclassified as a drug. The police are leaving me alone and I'm not
worried if they were to do anything."

Mrs Ivol began making the chocolates to help a fellow MS victim who was
reluctant to smoke the drug. A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said:
"We treat each case on merit."
