UK: Cannabis Campiagner Escapes Police Rap

A campaigner for the legalisation of cannabis who
was arrested after attempting to open Britain's
first Dutch-style cafe has been released without
charge.


Colin Davies was taken away by detectives on the
opening day of his shop - called The Dutch
Experience Cafe - and questioned about the
possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Mr Davies, who lives in Stockport, Greater
Manchester, has smoked the drug to relieve pain
since he broke his spine four years ago.

He was interviewed at Stockport Police Station
but was released at 3.30am on Sunday without
charge.
