Queen given taste of flower power Paul Majendie Evening Standard Thursday 12 Oct 2000 The Queen has been handed a posy claimed to include cannabis by a campaigner for the drug. Colin Davies, whose group the Medical Marijuana Co-operative is fighting for legalisation, handed the yellow flowers to the Queen and her driver put them in the car. "I said I was from a co-operative but I don't think she realised which co-op it was," said Mr Davies, 43. "She said 'thank you'." Special Branch detectives today confirmed they will interview Mr Davies about the flowers, given yesterday at the opening of The Lowry Centre, a £100 million arts project in Stockport.
