Hucknall cautioned over drugs find unknown Ananova Sunday 24 Dec 2000 Pop star Mick Hucknall has been cautioned by police for possessing cocaine and cannabis. Officers found the class A and class B drugs at the 40-year-old Simply Red singer's home in Surrey. The multi-millionaire was taken to a station nearby in Woking, where he was fingerprinted. He was then cautioned during a later appearance at another police station, the Sun reports. A Surrey police spokesman said: "A 40-year-old man was cautioned for an offence." Police discovered the substances when they raided Hucknall's house after a 21-year-old woman falsely accused him of raping her, but 24 hours after he was arrested on November 26 the alleged victim dropped the claim. Hucknall was to return to a police station in Staines, Surrey, on January 8 to find out what action would be taken over the drugs., but he was allowed to attend Walton-on-Thames station at an earlier date, the Sun says. Hucknall - whose string of hits includes Holding Back the Years and Fairground - is believed to have built up a fortune of more than £30 million. He has also been a donor to Labour Party funds after being a lifelong supporter and has been involved in Government think-tanks. The singer has been regularly seen with a string of glamorous women, including Martine McCutcheon and The Price Is Right hostess Lea Kristensen.
