Cannabis trials for MS victims Justin Davenport Daily Record Tuesday 14 Dec 1999 THE first clinical trials into the medical benefits of cannabis to people suffering from multiple sclerosis are to be carried out by the Medical Research Council, it was announced yesterday. It has approved a pounds 950,000 grant for a three-year study into the therapeutic effects of extracts from the drug on MS victims. Sufferers have claimed it can ease their symptoms, and several have been prosecuted for using the drug to relieve their pain.
