Cannabis study to go ahead Sarah Boseley BBC Monday 13 Dec 1999 Britain is to carry out its first clinical trials into the possible medical benefits of cannabis for people suffering from multiple sclerosis. The Medical Research Council has approved a grant of a million pounds for a three year study at a hospital in Plymouth in south west England.
