Don Barnard is 60 years old and has lived in Braintree
since 1975.

Mr Barnard said: "People want things done and we have to
ask how is the council going to pay for things people need.

"Our crime reduction policy and health policy is that we
should take a more tolerant view of cannabis possession
and minor cannabis offences. The savings this policy would
create could be put more policemen on the street who could
be used to combat problems of greater concern to the public.

"We propose the savings could also be used to build a
place for everybody to meet in town. The young and old
alike.

Basically, let's get back a sense of community.
