UK: Sniffing out drugs at pubs

Bracknell News

Thursday 13 Mar 2003

---
SNIFFER dogs and plainclothes police descended on Bracknell this week in an
effort to stamp out drug dealers operating from town centre pubs.

The joint clampdown with licensees saw officers and specialist drug
detection dogs positioned at the entrances of bars checking pubgoers for
drugs. The crackdown codenamed Operation Linctus saw one youth cautioned
for possesion of herbal cannabis on Saturday evening.

Bracknell police also checked licensed premises to ensure all drinking laws
were being adhered to, and that bouncers were properly registered.
