UK: Sniffing out drugs at pubs

Thursday 13 Mar 2003 SNIFFER dogs and plainclothes police descended on Bracknell this week in an effort to stamp out drug dealers operating from town centre pubs. The joint clampdown with licensees saw officers and specialist drug detection dogs positioned at the entrances of bars checking pubgoers for drugs. The crackdown codenamed Operation Linctus saw one youth cautioned for possesion of herbal cannabis on Saturday evening. Bracknell police also checked licensed premises to ensure all drinking laws were being adhered to, and that bouncers were properly registered.
