UK: Drug Rap For Pupil After Raid
Daily Record, Glasgow Friday 19 Sep 2003 A TEENAGE boy is to appear in court following a drug raid on a top secondary school. Police seized around £1000 worth of cannabis at Fortrose Academy on the Black Isle, Easter Ross. Nine male pupils were arrested but only one a 16year-old was charged. Last night, Detective Inspector Peter MacPhee said: ``The pupils held were questioned at the school, apart from one lad. ``He was taken from the school to Dingwall police station and is likely to be brought before Dingwall Sheriff Court tomorrow.'' The academy's rector, Douglas Simpson, said: ``I welcome this action by the police which I hope will reduce the problems of drugs in our schools.''
