HOUSTON POT CASE GOES UP IN SMOKE

Pop singer Whitney Houston's marijuana possession charge will be dismissed
by Hawaii prosecutors in three months if she meets certain conditions.
Attorney Brook Hart would not say what the conditions are, but generally a
defendant agrees to stay out of trouble and abide by other conditions
similar to [probation. The misdemeanor charge stemmed from a Jan. 11
incident in which Houston's handbag, allegedly containing half an ounce of
marijuana, was seized by security at Keahole-Kona International Airport.
Houston and her husband, Bobby Brown, boarded a flight before police
arrived. She had faced 30 days in jail or a $1,000 fine.
