POT LUCK AT RESTAURANT

MONTREAL -- Quebec's pro-marijuana parties plan to open a coffee shop and
restaurant this month where customers can bring their own pot to smoke.

Unlike clubs which allow only people suffering from illnesses to smoke
joints, the proposed restaurant in the city's downtown will be open to
anyone.

"People could come here and smoke their joint peacefully while sipping a
nice espresso," said Hugo Saint-Onge, leader of the Bloc Pot and an owner of
the eatery.

But pot won't be sold on-site.

"We won't exclude the idea if the law eventually allows the sale of
marijuana and hashish, like in coffee shops in Amsterdam, but we won't do it
for now," Saint-Onge said.

The cafe, which doesn't yet have a name, will sell rolling paper and
cannabis seeds so customers can grow plants at home.

To satisfy those with the munchies, the restaurant will sell quiches,
sandwiches, cakes and East Indian dishes.
