SA: Two Thais And One Pakistani Executed in Saudi Arabia

Daily Times, Pakistan

Tuesday 11 Jan 2005

---

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia executed on Monday two Thais and a Pakistani convicted of
drug smuggling, said the Interior Ministry.

The two Thai men were found guilty of smuggling and selling hashish, while the
Pakistani was convicted of swallowing packets of heroin and smuggling them into
the country.

The conservative kingdom executes convicted murderers, rapists and drug
smugglers, usually by public beheading with a sword. Monday's executions, in
the Red Sea city of Jeddah, brought to six the number of people put to death
this year.
