SA: Two Thais And One Pakistani Executed in Saudi Arabia

Tuesday 11 Jan 2005 RIYADH: Saudi Arabia executed on Monday two Thais and a Pakistani convicted of drug smuggling, said the Interior Ministry. The two Thai men were found guilty of smuggling and selling hashish, while the Pakistani was convicted of swallowing packets of heroin and smuggling them into the country. The conservative kingdom executes convicted murderers, rapists and drug smugglers, usually by public beheading with a sword. Monday's executions, in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, brought to six the number of people put to death this year.
