US: 'Bush acknowledges cannabis use'

Sunday 20 Feb 2005 Secretly-taped private conversations with George W Bush appear to reveal that he acknowledged using marijuana. The conversations were recorded in 1998 by Doug Wead, a former aide to President Bush's father. In one of 12 tapes, Mr Bush criticises former vice president Al Gore for admitting that he had used cannabis. President Bush said: "I wouldn't answer the marijuana questions. You know why? Because I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."
